There's an international fight going on over the most hyped schoolboy rugby sensation since Kurtley Beale. Taniela "the Tongan Thor" Tupou has come out and said that he's willing to play for either New Zealand or Australia, it's just a matter of who wants him more.

With Rugby Union and League officials from Australia and New Zealand pursuing his signature, Tupou is aware that he is a hot commodity.

The Auckland based prop, who moved from Tonga four years ago wants some clarification about his future.

"They (NZRU) said that 'if you're not on a New Zealand passport and you've been here for four years, you can play for the team'. But I've been here for four years and they said I can't play for the New Zealand A team. It's not fair," he said.

Whilst some may be quick to criticise Tupou's willingness to abandon his new home, he was honest with his motivations stating,

"We come from a poor family. My dad passed away in 2005 and that's why I'm trying my best in rugby ... my family are my motivation."

Tupou has previously stated that he was keen to play for the Wallabies and the Waratahs have confirmed that they have followed him recently. Here's hoping they can convince him to head to Australia
